Wall Art

So, I'm back home from the family weekend in "Dwingeloo". It was so much fun! There was one less fun part: there was some vomit involved. But I'm not gonna elaborate on that. Blugh.

What the ... my sister is giving me a shin-dance!
Err, yeah. Charming.

Ahh! As you can see, there's a giant eye behind her. Wanna know what that is? A huge face I drew on my sisters wall.

Great webcam-quality.
I don't feel like explaining ANYTHING right now, therefore I'm going to stop blogging. What I'm going to do?
I'm going to entertain my bored [annoying] sister. She deserves some love from her big sister.

Vanilla-Raspberry Swirl

Don't know what to do on a languid summers day? Make your own ice cream! You need:
A (water)ice shape-thing, a mixer, a freezer (duh), a bowl of "framboises", powdered sugar and vanilla-yogurt. Mash the "framboises" with a little bit of powdered sugar. Portion the vanilla yogurt in the (water)ice shape-things, fill the rest up with the raspberry-puree and stir it a little bit. And after 5 lovely hours of chilling in the freezer, there it is ... your own vanilla-raspberry swirl!

I'm craving something ice-cream-ish right now.

Noctiluca Scintillans

There's this lake in Australia, with special algae that somehow start glowing when they're touched. During nighttime, that is probably the most beautiful biological thing ever. At least, in my opinion. God is great!

wedding dress

Adorable! [And SO going to be mine!]

napkins and pompoms

It's 1.30 AM. I'm tired, I'm not in bed, I'm watching a stupid sitcom -My Wife and Kids, blugh!. Sounds like a real ME-night.

O! Want to know what the surprise was? It was a ... color-consult! And it was a color-consult in make-up form. Well, I must say ... the girl didn't really tell me anything I didn't know yet about colors and about how much "cold" colors look good on me. It was pretty effective for Hanna though! She totally realized that green and -especially- brown look awesome on her! I bet her wardrobe is going to be filled with green-brown stuff next week.
A part that we had some good cappuccino ... and I just love it that out mothers had this whole thing planned out ... and we had an alright rest of the day. So, it was alllllright.

(I hate My Wife and Kids)

What am I doing?! I have to work tomorrow! Which I'm not really looking forward, because the weather is SO going to suck tomorrow. *pout pout pout*

I'm off to bed after Surf Patrol! Those dudes are so cool.

surprise

Ahh! I'm so excited! Mom and Hanna's mom planned something for us to do today. The most fun thing is ... we don't know WHAT it is they've planned! So now I'm sitting here, restlessly biting my nails (figuratively speaking), waiting for A.T. -Hanna's boyfriend- to pick us up.

I do have a hunch. But I don't want to say anything, what if the surprise is much less fun? Then it sounds so ... stupid.

And now I'm going to send a friend of mine an email. It's his birthday!

Vague.

Falling Down the Stairs

Hahahahahahahah! Need I say more? This is pure genius ... by the way! Check out my brother's blog sometime! This is where you have to click to get to Ruben's Blog. Guess what he was inspired by?

PS
Bobby McFerrin: "oo aah ah eeeh aah oeeh ah ah aa ooh oeh ah ah eeh ooh aah oh oh oo eeuuu."
Stewie: "cooooool!"
GENIUS!

he likes it

Wietse likes it! Wietse likes my "curious" blog. That is cool on so many levels.

Sleeplessness + restlessness + Lydia = the worst night ever.

As y'all probably noticed already -since I've posted a very stupid picture- I can't sleep. I CAN'T SLEEP!

I CAN'T SLEEP

Well, "I don't give a fdonoeinwoin about my reputation!" - Joan Jett, you got that right! Me neither!
I don't care what people think about me! And maybe deep down inside I do care to KNOW what people think of me, but whether it's awful, great, bad, stupendous ... it isn't going to change me.

O man, now I sound like one of those people who want to seem all inspirational and stuff. Well, I am most certainly not. I'm not a role-model! Yeeehaw!

high-tech glasses!

They're my dad's;
pretty awesome right?!

naughty girl

Yup, I just drank milk from the carton. And it felt gooooooood. Spreadin' my germs all over it. Yeeehaw!

the contrast

The contrast between how I spent my day today and how I spent it yesterday is very big. I wonder if it's good for your body. I doubt it. In fact ... I know it's bad. I am wretched to the bone, which is exactly why I'm in my parents bed, with Amos Lee on (O MY do I love Amos).

In the meantime I'm uploading some pictured on the Dutch social network (Hyves) to share my awesome Slagharen-day out with the rest of my buddies.

Man, this blogging gives me a headache.

PS
I wanted to label this as 'blogging, contrast, big', but somehow blogger wants me to label it 'blogging, contrast, Big Ben', so I'm going to have to live with it.

slothful times, passive people

O man, today was a very low point in my life. Although, if you think of it as a good thing to be lazy .. it was a very high point in my life. Very high. The highest peak in the graphics.
And of course you are like: "Lydia, you must have done something." Well, yes, I did something. I went to the fridge to get cheese, made some toast, put the cheese on it, went back to the couch [or whatever object you can lay down on] and did nothing again.
O! I also threw some clothes into the washing machine. Still it was the most lazy day I've ever experienced.

Right now I'm sitting on my bed, and since we're going to change the entire attic, my bed has been moved next to the window, which I actually love! I can blog a bit and look outside.
Unfortunately the view isn't that spectacular:

The first thing I see when I look outside is the perfectly painted summerhouse of my neighbor, my other neighbors have their clothes hanging outside to dry. I see a piece of the alley our backyard is attached to. I see a lot of plants and hedges. I see six trees. A street, with cars, very old and rusty cars. And there's one shiny one, though it has a very weird green color. I see a slide, and the flag of the town I live in. Cool! But why are they hanging it? I have no clue. Maybe they just love this place [I most certainly don't].
I see a little kid on a tiny-winy bike. I see the sunlit walls and leaves.

And I think I saw the blonde hairs of Vera, who's coming to pick me up! We're gonna have a walk,
to make up for the laziness.

cold & curious

It's a typical summers day in Holland. Grey skies, cold air and a lot of shivering people, because everybody desperately wants to look summer-ish, so everybody wears T-shirts ans shorts.
And besides that ... I had a revelation a few minutes ago:

If I want to become a journalist -or at least study journalism- I really need to become more curious and aware of what's going on in this world! I need to become more interested somehow!

The problem is I am not interested. Well, very limited. I'm only interested in movies, music and other cultural stuff. Is that going to get me somewhere? Well, at least there's something I'm interested in.
What am I nagging about.
I think I'm going to read the newspaper now ...
after watching Spongebob Squarepants. No matter how much of an headache he gives me, I have to see the ending.

PS
actually the title of this blog kind of sounds like the title of a crime-story!

The Cold and the Curious - By Lydia van de Beek

"Jack! Don't do this! Put that gun away!"
"Olivia, of course I'm not going to put this gun away."
"But Jack, do you love me?"
"I used to, dear. But since you've been stalking me around ..."
"I haven't been stalking you! I'm just ... very curious."
"Yes, that is what you are. Goodbye, forever."
"NOOOOOOOOOO!" Olivia fell down on her knobby knees and begged Jack not to kill her.
"Your tears won't change my mind. Stupid girl."
"O Jack! Why are you so cold?!"
"Olivia, you're so ... awfully curious."
A loud BANG! filled the air. Olivia was never heard of again,
nobody wanted to know, nobody was as curious as she was.
And the people of town banned Jack to Siberia, since his awful coldness froze everybody.

- the end.

PSS
this is the worst story I've ever written. I'm sorry. I bet you're all puking right now.

rollercoaster tycoon

O man, I just love rollercoasters. And I love screaming like a madman without having anyone looking at you like you actually ARE a madman.
Anyway, I brought my camera to "Slagharen" and some pretty amazing pictures were taken!

All wearing Converse, pretty awesome!

"The Fountain of Youth!" taken from the lift.

Me in the Ferris wheel.

Tamara in the Ferris wheel. She was so afraid to go, but she did it! Respect girl (:

O my, did we have fun with these mirrors!

O yeah :D

Punthoofd!

Genius!

Hanzers and Tamzers
The three of us.

Do you see how disturbed Hanna and I look? Well, pretty logical , there was a huge group of annoying Somalian dudes .. pinching our butts! Unbelievable. And even worse .. when I finally made it out that line to get to the attraction ... there was no space for me anymore, so I had to go back to those dudes!

Hanna: so relieved to be down to earth.

So nervous. It was my first time in a free fall!

The "I made it"-face.

And I even smiled at the Somalian dudes.

Waiting for "The Traum Boot" to work. Our third time already!

Upside down :D

Tamara is pretty

self timer

Cowboy Aart

Conquerors of the roller-coaster!

Hanna and Aart conquered it too!
Windy.

a day out is just so much fun [as long as you're with nice people]!

Is that true, or is that true? Right now I'm uploading some pictures while watching .. iCarly. Yes people, I'm watching iCarly, you know why? I can't find the remote control, so I can't watch anything else. Well, I didn't even look for the remote. I think deep down I DO want to see this. It's not even that stupid.
I actually kind of like it!

No, I don't. It's about 'bleeding pickles?' Idiots.

Ahhh, why does the uploading so long? I'll be posting some pictures later on. It's time for me to fully devote myself to Carly, Sam and Freddie [who actually turned out pretty cute throughout the years].

Ha! And that Gibby kid. Love his handles! His love handles!

new design

Hey y'all. How do you like my new "Blindfolded Trouble"-design? I kind of like it. (Especially the lump on the "T's" stem)
Though I realized ... that my blog title doesn't really make any sense. How can trouble be blindfolded? Haha, of course.
Stupid realization.

I think I'm going to bed early today, going to Slagharen tomorrow! Yeehaw! \\
